Teak furniture production

Handcrafted splendor from Indonesian carpentry:
Our furniture is created with attention to detail

Process of furniture production

The production process for our furniture begins with the processing of raw teak boards. The materials then undergo several steps that are crucial to the quality and durability of our furniture:

  1. Drying: First, the wooden boards are dried in the fresh air, followed by special drying systems.
  2. Cutting: A rough cut is made, followed by a fine cut.
  3. Milling: Grooves and tenons are precisely milled to ensure durable and stable connections.
  4. Accuracy of fit: Each individual part is checked for accuracy of fit.
  5. Sanding: The first sanding step takes place, followed by the assembly of the individual parts.
  6. Quality control: The first check is carried out.
  7. Further grinding: A second grinding pass is carried out, followed by another inspection.
  8. Fine sanding: Up to three additional sanding passes are carried out to ensure a flawless surface.
  9. Final inspection: Finally, the final quality control is carried out.

All of these steps are performed in the same facility, allowing us to ensure strict quality controls and effective quality management. Each joinery workshop is fully responsible for producing flawless pieces of furniture.

After completing these production steps, the furniture is transported to our distribution warehouse in Jepara. There, another thorough inspection is carried out, and the surfaces of the furniture receive the final polish. Only then do they meet our quality standards and shine with their characteristic honey-colored luster without any additional treatment.

Finally, the furniture is carefully packed in sturdy double boxes and loaded into containers for shipping.

  • Teak planks

Teak planks directly after cutting. Here, the different parts of the tree from which the planks were sawn are clearly visible.

  • Assembly by means of tongue and groove

Clean mortising and tenoning is one of the most important criteria for the quality of workmanship and the long-term durability of the furniture. This construction principle also allows for the flat packaging of even very bulky furniture, such as extending tables. This significantly simplifies transport to the customer and ensures trouble-free assembly upon arrival. Furthermore, defective parts can be easily replaced during production because the joints are always milled in the same place.

  • Mortise and tenon

Thanks to the tongue and tenon construction, the furniture can be put together like a modular system during final assembly and then permanently and heavily connected using the supplied wooden dowels or brass screws.

  • Ready for delivery

After final inspection and finishing touches, the furniture is carefully packed in double boxes and secured with packing straps. Once packed, it awaits transport to the port and loading into the container. This ensures that nothing can happen to it during the long sea journey from Indonesia to Germany.
